Wrestling at the Top Colleges

Wrestling is one of the NCAA sports played at the highly selective colleges. Overall, 19 of the 61 highly selective colleges have men’s wrestling teams, with a total of 585 wrestlers. Wrestlers at these 19 highly selective colleges represent 3% of all male NCAA athletes from the 55 highly selective colleges.

Of the 19 colleges with men’s wrestling teams, 13 of them belong in Division 1 with 427 wrestlers and 6 of them belong in Division 3 with 158 players, totaling 585 wrestlers together in the 2021/2022 season.
