Tennis at the Top Colleges

Tennis is one of the most popular NCAA sports played at the highly selective colleges for both men and women. Overall, 58 of the 61 highly selective colleges have men’s tennis teams and 60 of the 61 highly selective colleges have women’s tennis teams, with a total of 1,360 players across all the colleges.

Of the 58 colleges with men’s tennis teams, 29 of them belong in Division 1 with 329 players and 29 of them belong in Division 3 with 389 players, totaling 718 players together in the 2021/2022 season.

Of the 60 colleges with women’s tennis teams, 30 of them belong in Division 1 with 304 players and 30 of them belong in Division 3 with 338 players totaling 642 players together in the 2021/2022 season.
